Fast paced funny Sci-Fi
Sci-fi isn’t my go-to fiction genre, but the description and title intrigued me. Bob is such a cool name for a book. Peter Anderson, the main character is a worn out journalist, his editor nudging him out to pasture by assigning the soft stories. I’ve been around the news business lots, so that pulled me in too. I started reading expecting a standard sci-fi, but Bob isn’t. Anderson sets out to cover mysterious lights over the Arizona desert and runs into Bob, a brilliantly developed sidekick we are never 100 percent certain is friend or foe. We do know he’s hilarious. He talks about himself in third person, drives a super-hero/007 car, and has an endless supply of cousins skilled in any legal or illegal task Anderson and Bob need. And we learn Anderson is nowhere near out to pasture pasture, unless the next breaking story is happening there. Bob is a fun read. It moves fast. Something’s always going on, and Tegon Maus keeps readers guessing about which characters to trust and what will happen next. This is my first of Tegon’s books to read, and there will be others. The author shared a gift copy of Bob with me for an unbiased review. I thoroughly enjoyed Bob and believe many other readers will as well.
