How to Write SF

The Craft of Writing Science Fiction that Sells by Ben Bova, best-selling author and six-time Hugo Award winner for Best Editor. (This is one of the books your ol' Critter Captain learned from himself, and I highly recommend it.) (Also via Amazon)

The Sigil Trilogy

If you're looking for an amazing, WOW! science fiction story, check out THE SIGIL TRILOGY. This is — literally — one of the best science fiction novels I've ever read.

Interviewed!

I was interviewed live on public radio for Critters' birthday, for those who want to listen.

Great review site, deserves our support

Submitting my blog review site again this year. Last year I finished 7th in the top ten behind all the review sites that are huge, have teams of reviews, and focus on one genre. Time to try again and see how I do.

Kevin has been at this a long time and is not afraid to tell it like it is. He is discerning and reviews all sorts of books in the field. He deserves the win!

Kevin is dedicated to the (apparently) dying art of reading carefully. He is the patron saint of literacy.

He's a hard-working, good writer I've read for many years.

Kevin is a brilliant and tireless reviewer and a statesman of the mystery genre.

Kevin Tipple is a servent to the writing community. He does the hard work, when so many others just spout off.

This site is always timely.

Kevin does an amazing job, this is a daily stop for me.

Go Kevin!

Great source of info on mysteries and ops for mystery writers

Kevin's Corner is extraordinary, as is Kevin Tipple, its creator. Through unbelievable personal tragedy and ongoing life upheaval he has kept the Corner going - and it gets better all the time. I wouldn't miss it.

A great site for reviews, and finding out which authors will be included in upcoming books!

Kevin does a ton for the mystery-reading and -writing community!

Excellent content every time.

Good reviews consistently over time.

I enjoy the mix of reviews of older books as well as new releases. Also like the occasional author interview. Keeps things interesting on the blog.

Kevin writes in-depth and insightful reviews that inevitably capture the essence of the book without spoilers.

An insightful critic who dives deep into a book, understands its strengths and weaknesses and intelligently sets forth his points with verve and precision. He also understands the writing game and how to tell a good story.

Excellent in-depth reviews.

Kevin Tipple's devotion to promoting mystery fiction and especially short mystery fiction has helped spread the word for years. His incisive reviews and interviews have been an invaluable support for promoting the success of the genre.

Kevin is a serious, thoughtful hard worker.

Lively informative and absorbing .

Incredibly informative and supportive of the crime writing community.

Excellent and long-running mystery/crime review site.

Good mix of old and new reviews, news, and links to other blogs of interest

Great review site and a wonderful support for authors!

World's best reviewer.

Just a wonderful blog for the mystery and larger writing community. Kevin is amazing!

Reviews are wide ranging, always fresh and interesting.

Kevin is always great. He works hard to cover all the issues in his field.

Brilliant reviews.

Kevin's Corner makes an invaluable and unique contribution to the world of short mystery fiction. He deserves recognition for his tireless work.

His site is very informative and helpful to those in the writing and publishing community.

Kevin does a great job of dissecting a story and promoting the author's work.

Kevin keeps me up to date.

In addition to my long works, I am the author of over 60 published short stories. I've been writing for over forty years, and Kevin Tipple does more to promote short fiction than any person I know.
