Woo-hoo!
My unscientific estimate is that members of
Critters
are around 10X more likely
to make sales than non-critters (but cause and effect? who knows?.
Regardless, this page is to celebrate our successes!

a summary page of how many sales Critters have had.

If you have something to report,
tell me immediately!

{I'm thrilled to report that my first novel, SHORN, is now available from Mercury Retrograde Press (www.mercuryretrogradepress.com ), an Atlanta-based independent publisher of fantasy and science fiction.
I owe many Critters much thanks for their valuable feedback on the novel’s earlier incarnation "Children of Avelos." I am in no way exaggerating when I tell you that SHORN would never have made it to publication without the support of my Critters friends.
A LAUNCH PARTY will be held in ATLANTA at WORDSMITHS BOOKS (www.wordsmithsbooks.com ) on JULY 19 at 7:30pm. If any Critters, past or current, can reach the Atlanta area, please come down and celebrate with us! Ari Warner, my map artist, will be there to sign books with me and exhibit some of his own fine art. We’ll have food and drinks and a lot of fun! I would love to have the chance to meet and thank some Critters in person!
A final note before I go on too long: Mercury Retrograde Press is truly a gem of an independent publisher. Their mission is to develop collaborative relationships with authors—in the way no longer seen in the major houses—and to publish high quality fantasy and science fiction literature. I’ve had a fabulous experience working with them through a process that can be damn scary at times. Critters who have complete novel manuscripts should check out the submission guidelines and consider submitting.
Cheers!

Critters reviewed early Seabird chapters in 1998, 2002-2004, & 2007. Seabird was a RFDR in 2002-2003. With so much Critter feedback, I have many co-authors and ghost-writers. Thank you for your hard work and kind advice! Thank you for providing many examples of excellence in fiction-writing. Without your help, no question, I wouldn't be published.

Thanks to all of you who have helped with this, the subsequent chapters as it has grown into a novel and my other journeyman-level efforts.

{I want to thank all the wonderful Critters who commented on my story and helped make it better...It's out in the Sept. issue of Aoife's Kiss....(feels good to see my name in print for the first time)
I also want to invite everyone to come check out my new site
www.goldenvisionsmagazine.biz
It'a a free on-line magazine. Right now it only has my stuff- but I welcome all critters to submit something. It's low paying (but it is a paying site) I have the on-line mag in the works, but it's up and running (a one-legged limp right now) and I need input on how to make it better. Guidelines are on site.
I am also working on a printed version (I need submissions-and you get a free copy when you have a story in it...ain't that just peachy)
There is a link to critters at my site- so you can look it over, then just hop over to Critters and do a few crits.
Tell your friends.
And Thanks to Captain Critter for letting me put a link to Critters on my site....

- R. Scott McCoy, who reports "Starting a new exine for Horror".
{This is a new venture for me. I am starting Necrotic Tissue magazine, an ezine to be released quarterly in PDF. It is a paid market at $10-$25 per story up to 5,000 words. The web site will premier this Monday, October 22nd, www.necrotictissue.com, and we will accept submissions for the entire month of November with the first issue to be published on 1/1/08. Our next submission window will be January 08, with more to follow. My goal is to get this up to a paid market of at least .03 cents per word within a year. This is strictly a horror market.
I wasn’t sure if this counted as a Woohoo, but it sure is a personal one for me. Everyone involved in getting the website up and who will be editing is doing it for free, and the ezine is free. We are committed to giving feedback whether we accept a story or not. I don’t think I would have had the oomph to do this if I hadn’t joined Critters.
