The Sigil Trilogy

If you're looking for an amazing, WOW! science fiction story, check out THE SIGIL TRILOGY. This is — literally — one of the best science fiction novels I've ever read.

How to Write SF

The Craft of Writing Science Fiction that Sells by Ben Bova, best-selling author and six-time Hugo Award winner for Best Editor. (This is one of the books your ol' Critter Captain learned from himself, and I highly recommend it.) (Also via Amazon)

2011 P&E Winner for Promo Firm

Hundreds of endorsements on LinkedIn and 50+ written endorsements from clients and partners for this book publicist.

She is the BEST !!!!!!!!

Stephanie knows the publishing industry well, and understands how to match her clients' books with the outlets most likely to give them recognition and exposure.

Stephanie's client, my friend Elizabeth Harris, had a sold-out book for her signing at BookPeople in Austin, Texas! She also got interviewed on NPR and several other venues. Really fine publicist.

Stephanie is AMAZING and such a FABULOUS support to her clients!!! She truly deserves this honor!! THANKS...Darlene Templeton

Editor & Preditor? There is no contest, she is more. Howzabout- Laudator Tempous Acti? :A peculiar anthologic maze, an amusing literary chaos, a farrago of quotations, a mere olla podrida of quaintness, a pot pourri of pleasant delites, a florilegium of elegant extracts, a tangled fardel of old-world flowers of thought, a faggot of odd fancies, quips, facetiae, loosely tied' (Holbrook Jackson, Anatomy of Bibliomania) by a 'laudator temporis acti,' a 'praiser of time past' (Horace, Ars Poetica 173).

Stephanie gave me some of the best advice I received for my book, and she didn't charge me a dime for it. When I was trying to figure out who to ask to buy one copy of my non-fiction middle school Texas woman's biography on Oveta Culp Hobby, she recommended I ask Oveta's son, Bill Hobby, Jr., the former governor of Texas. I did ask him and while he didn't buy 1400 copies and put one in every middle school in Texas, he DID send my name to his PR person, told her to help me for four months, and to SEND HIM THE BILL! In gratitude, I sent Stephanie a check. She is generous in her time, knowledge, and cheerleading!

Stephanie helped me launch my book in August 2013. She was a patient educator as well as a publicist. I did not know anything about the new way that books are promoted with such things as a virtual tour or a book trailer. Stephanie is wonderful to work with and I am most grateful to her.

Stephanie was very helpful in my quest to create a quality product.

Multi-year winner in previous years.

Specializing in pre-pub adult nonfiction & historical novel promotion for 15 years. Professionally edited manuscripts welcome in all pub paths.

Stephanie is a consummate professional and she really knows her stuff. No author can go wrong with her as a publicist. She has such a passion for the written word.

Stephanie Barko is a pro and terrific teacher.

Stephanie did a great job promoting my book.

Stephanie knows this business very well and she is very effective at promoting our new book. She's the best!

I have been a fan of Stephanie Barko, Literary Publicist for nearly 20 years. She has a great work ethic, my clients love her work. She is a consummate professional and whenever I have the budget for a book project, she is one of the first professionals I want to put on the team.

Stephanie is GREAT to work with!

She is generous with her time, knowledgable about her field, and a great example of a person!!

Awesome!!

I have worked with Stephanie for several years as a book reviewer, and applaud the work she is doing to assist and promote creative women writers.

I have witnessed the professionalism and kindness of Stephanie Barko consistently in the literary community. From talks with authors at the Texas Book Festival, to her strong presence within the Writers’ League of Texas, to sitting next to her by incident in a literary event, her whip smart and supportive spirit cannot be surpassed.

Never disappoints
